Vince - Scout Leader

Vince has been Scout Leader since 2000 and a member of Bancroft's Sea Scouts since the age of 12!

He left Bancroft's in 1988, followed by a year's National Service in the French Army making good use of many of his scouting skills rising rapidly to the Rank of Sergeant.

Vince is an RYA Instructor for the Powerboating and Inland Waterways training schemes and a Scout Pulling Instrcutor, in addition to holding RYA Day Skipper, dinghy and BCU Canoe Safety qualifications. All very useful during the summer sailing season & camps. As an RLSS Lifeguard and Scout Climbing Supervisor, activities ashore are also well covered.

He gained his Scout Woodbadge in 2004 has completed the NSPCC Child Protection Awareness course and holds the Queen's Scout Award.

Dan - Assistant Scout Leader

Dan has been an Assistant Scout Leader with Bancroft's Sea Scouts since 2002. He left Bancroft's in 1998, having been a Scout and then a Venture Scout during his time at school. He gained the Queen's Scout Award in 2000, and holds the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award.

As an Assistant Scout Leader Dan runs activities for the Scout age group, and helps on most water activites. He is a qualified Powerboat Instructor, and has a commercially endorsed Coastal Skipper qualification allowing him to take charge of sailing yachts in coastal waters up to 15 miles offshore. He is also a RLSS UK qualifed Lifesaving Teacher. He hopes to become a BCU qualifed Coach in the near future.

Dan lives in Cambridge, so isn't around as much as he would like, but he normally provides his expertise on camps and weekend activities. He is currently studying for a PhD in Enginnering at Cambridge. His other interests include rowing competively for his College rowing team.
